Dalälven smolt migration study

The Dalälven smolt migration 2020 study has begun! A total of 340 salmon smolts were released, 140 of which were acoustically tagged and will be tracked as they make their way approx. 25 km out to the sea. We will see whether mixtures of pharmaceutical pollutants commonly detected in freshwater ecosystems disrupt migration behaviour and survival in this highly regulated river system.
