BACKGROUND

As ES&T marks its 60th anniversary, this editorial and special issue focus attention on ecotoxicology. To mark the 60-year milestone, we invited leading researchers from across the ecotoxicology community of scholars to reflect on progress and articulate priorities for the decades ahead. This ecotoxicology-focused special issue brings together those many unique and insightful voices in a collection of new articles examining the progress and challenges facing this research area.
